Consistent Swing Trading Strategy – Tradingcup Latest Leaderboard’s Top 2

In today’s Tradingcup blog episode, I’m going to feature the new rank 2 trader under the code name King Yeung Wong.

I’ve featured Lin Yang‘s amazing portfolio diversification strategy that led him to the rank 1 position last Friday but Kaede Honjou has reclaimed the spot.

Kaede and King Yeung are the current 1st and 2nd ranks respectively in the ongoing Tradingcup MMR Leaderboard.

Take note that the rankings are updated every hour.

Lin has dropped to the 4th position with John Macknamara leading the 3rd.

The competition is getting tougher as I have expected. When I check Tradingcup’s leaderboard yesterday, Lin and Kaede keep switching in between ranks 1 and 2 until Kaede has overtaken the top spot completely.

I will update  the leaderboard from time to time.

For now let’s explore King Yeung’s trading statistics and key performance that helped him land the 2nd spot.

He has active trading positions and the extracted trading data are based on the time of writing this article. His figures may change over time affecting the accuracy of my report.

Key Highlights of King Yeung Wong’s Second Place Achievement

  • Excellent Max Drawdown Control

Having a max drawdown of 16.88% only knowing that King Yeung has made a total of 3,202 trades to date proved that he has excellent money and risk management. The ability of keeping max drawdown lower than 20-25% is beneficial because a trader can make more profits the more capital he has. A trader can even do compounding returns at a higher level which we can see clearly from King Yeung’s equity curve.

  • Diversified Portfolio

Like Lin Yang, King Yeung also resorted in trading various market instruments although he made more trades.

Here’s the breakdown with average PnL:

GBPJPY: $8,192.26

GBPCAD: $7,597.46

GBPCHF: $7,501.44

XAUUSD: $7,445.43

USDCHF: -$228.15

GBPUSD: -$1,105.04

CHFJPY: -$5,679.12

Total:    $75,964.02

3 out of these 25 trading instruments have performed poorly but the other 22 neutralized the negative balance. This is the advantage of diversifying portfolio.

ACY Securities offers more than 2,200 trading products across MT4 and MT5 platforms, you can get access to a wide range of markets including Forex, Precious Metals, Indices, Commodities, Cryptocurrencies, ETFs and Share CFDs.

  • Confidence in Increasing Position Size

Another thing that impresses me is his confidence when engaging trades with bigger position size.

Based on his trading data, he has 3,089 trades under 1 lot size but the moment he increased the position sizes, he capitalised well enough!

There are 113 trades with more than 1.60 lot sizes. Each trade has an average positive PnL of $333.79.

Here are the largest trades he made.

His confidence to what he saw on the markets allowed him to utilise position sizing to his advantage.

  • Profitable Risk/Reward ratio

Lastly, King Yeung has a decent and profitable risk to reward ratio. Across the 3,202 trades he performed, he has an average of $69.25 per win and average of -$62.78 per loss. A healthy 110% or 1.10:1 risk/reward ratio per trade that made him profitable.

Conclusion

Congratulations to King Yeung for achieving 189.94% returns that made him the new Tradingcup’s Leaderboard rank 2.
